Dawnleaf Watches Rozen Maiden Zurückspulen: Episode 1

Okay, me watching this was a terrible idea.  Because I have no idea.  Apparently this episode was eight volumes of a manga squeezed into one episode.  The rest of the show will continue at a normal pace, and will apparently be some sort of ‘what-if’ story.  But I won’t be able to truly appreciate it or anything because I’m not comfortable with the source material.

Thus, all I can really say from a reviewer’s standpoint is that the animation is really, really good.  And the music’s nice, too.  But I can’t fully appreciate it, because, obviously, rushing through things at such a breakneck pace makes it difficult for one to care, but hey, maybe the manga’s a lot better.  And it is, at least from what I’ve heard.

Sorry for leaving a post that’s this pitifully short, but this is like watching Nisemonogatari without watching Bakemonogatari first.  Some entertainment can be gleaned, but you will be confused as hell.

I’m dropping this.  Not because it’s bad, but because I feel like I’m not really equipped to handle it. I also need to drop more shows, anyway, or I'll never have time for them all.
If I ever get around to reading the manga, maybe I’ll pick it up.  Like I said, the animation’s pretty amazing, and I’m a sucker for stuff like that.
